Location

Wildwood Park is an 867-acre park nestled just north of Augusta that offers access to the 72,000-acre Clarks Hill Lake, which has the area's best spots for fishing and boating activities. Wildwood Park is continuously voted the "Best Campground" in Columbia County and Metro Augusta by readers of the Columbia County Magazine since 2008 and most recently as 2017. This hidden gem was the site of the first ever MedWAR and we are thrilled to be taking it back to its roots. This venue combines all terrain necessary for the race, easy access to the city, and a just-challenging-enough environment to make for a competitive race.

Wildwood Park is located at 3780 Dogwood Lane Appling, GA 30802 with multiple options.

If you are traveling east or west on I-20 take exit 199 Washington Rd. and travel North for 17 miles until you reach Dogwood Ln and the entrance.

Alternatively, take exit 183 for U.S. Route 221 and travel North on 221 until you reach Washington Rd, turning Northwest. Take Washington Rd. to the entrance of Wildwood Park on Dogwood Ln.

Parking

Parking is available at Wildwood Park for racers, up to two vehicles per race team. Parking fees are included in the registration fee for the team.

Accommodations

Camping: located in the primitive camping site at the peninsula, circled in red on the map below. There are clean restrooms with toilets, picnic tables and fire rings and trash bins but there is no electric, potable water or shower. Camping is included in the registration fee from April 26-28, 2024 (2 nights).
