About Us

Pacific Northwest Wilderness Medicine held the first Northwest MedWAR in 2019. It was scheduled to return in 2020, but then was put on hold given the pandemic like many live events. We returned in May 2023 with another summer race and are excited to bring a third MedWAR NW to the region for a fall edition. We are excited and hopeful that this year's races will provide an educational and fun reason to gather again as a community.

Our organization caters mostly to medical students, but love the interactions with the wilderness medical community we get to build during this event. We hope it offers many educational and fun training opportunities for everyone!

Alyse Oxenford

Alyse is a second year medical student at Western University of Health Sciences. She assisted in directing Pacific NW MedWAR last May and is excited to be bringing the event back to a new location this fall!
