Volunteers are vital to the success of the MedWAR Race. We are grateful for each and every person who volunteers. Volunteers have a variety of roles including running challenges, judging scenarios, giving directions or gear to racers, checking safety gear, tracking teams, and taking photos. We strive to move volunteers around so they can have a variety of interactions during the race. Medical knowledge not required - we will teach you everything you need to know.
Volunteers will receive an exclusive Midwest MedWAR 2019 volunteer shirt, complementary camping, food throughout their volunteer time, and are invited to the post-race celebration dinner.
We will feed you the entire time. There will be a sunset dinner Friday at the campground and bagels for breakfast on Saturday. There will be food and snacks out on the course and the post race banquet for dinner that night.
We will give you a place to pitch a tent if you choose. Simply let us know if you are coming in on Friday or plan to stay over on Saturday. We should have tent space for you if you do not own one but you may need to share (same gender) and you should have your own sleeping bag or bedding. You will be able to provide this information during registration (below).
The volunteer meeting will be at 13:15 at the Start/Finish line on Saturday. At that time you will receive your assignments and be taken out on the course. Be prepared to have some down time. A folding chair and a book/study material may be a good idea. Be dressed appropriately for the weather.
You do not have to stay the entire time but please let us know when you plan to be there.
Volunteer registration is free, it’s just an easy way for us to keep track of you.
